Judy Isaacson Elias is the founder of Heroes to Heroes, an organization that honors the service of veterans in the U.S., especially those with extreme Post Traumatic Stress disorder. She founded this group in honor of her father, who served in World War II and volunteered with disabled veterans until he passed away in 2001. Judy leads the Heroes to Heroes journey to Israel as a way to say thank you to American disabled veterans, offering ten days of exploration and education. She is also the Northeast Regional Manager at Regional Reps, a firm representing more than 1,000 small- and medium-market radio stations throughout the country.

Dr. Itzhak (Tzaki ) Siev-Ner, MD

Dr. Itzhak (Tzaki) Siev-Ner is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Since 2017, he has served as the Director of the Rehabilitation Division in the Israeli Ministry of Health, as well as the Medical Director of Jewish National Fund affiliate ALEH Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitation Hospital. His department has led efforts to treat most of Israel’s war and terror casualties in addition to providing long-term care for Israeli military veterans. He has held leadership roles with Israel’s Ministry of Health and the Israel Medical Association. Since 2004, he has served as chairman of the Israeli Society for Diabetic Foot and Wound Care.

Dr. Niva Blum

Dr. Niva Russek-Blum is a neuroscientist who focuses and works toward finding cures for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and ALS. She is the leading researcher at the Arava R&D Center, where she has successfully created potential ALS therapeutics in zebrafish. Dr. Russek-Blum’s research has been published in major medical journals worldwide, and she has been awarded for her academic achievements. Dr. Russek-Blum collaborates with the academic and bio-tech and pharma sectors, and pre-clinical studies in her lab have successfully developed into clinical trials in ALS patients in both the U.S. and in Israel.

Dr. Rivki Ofir

Dr. Rivka Ofir serves as the Head of the Arava Center for Drug Discovery at The Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research, and the Head of the Arava Center for Drug Discovery at The Dead Sea & Arava Science Center at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Dr. Ofir’s areas of interest include desert chemistry, cannabis-related pain relievers, and healthy aging. Through her academic research, she has explored models for studying disease mechanism, drug discovery, and tissue regeneration. She has contributed to over 80 articles and reports in scientific peer-reviewed journals and publications, and has collaborated with colleagues in Israel, Jordan, and throughout the world.
